Family affair as youngsters take on Three Peaks

Siblings Lois McDermot, nine, and 11-year-old Ross, took on two of the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of Overgate Hospice, Elland.

They took on the challenge in memory of their great-grandma Jean, who passed away at the hospice on December 31 last year.

Fifteen-year-old Bradley Cope completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks in an astonishing time of nine hours with his dad Anthony. They were part of a team of 18 Overgate supporters from across Calderdale who took part on Saturday, May 19.

Neil Sheard, challenge and lotteries fundraiser from Overgate, said: “We are extremely proud of and grateful to all who took part in the challenge.

“It was a beautiful day and we were humbled by their hard work and dedication – especially the youngsters.

“The three peaks is a great challenge to take part as a team,” he added.
