A woman has been arrested after targeting vulnerable people in Lightcliffe and Norwood Green.

Calderdale Valleys police said it had received a number of reports of a woman knocking on people’s doors telling them she needs to get a taxi to visit her sick child in hospital.

A statement on its Facebook page said: “She will then ask to borrow £10 - £20. Do not give this female any money, it is a scam.”

Police confirmed that a 28-year-old female was arrested yesterday (Monday) and has been charged with a number of offences.
