Signs have gone up on Fore Lane Avenue in Sowerby letting people know of a ‘three strikes’ rule, amidst plunging temperatures.

The council notices say gritters have tried to go down the street but have had difficulty getting onto and out of the road because of parked vehicles.

They say they need a clear width of 3.5m to get through.

The signs also say: “Should access be obstructed on a further three occasions, please be aware that this road will be removed from our gritting routes until such a time that residents can evidence that access is available.”
