Scheme to benefit local shops
A digital loyalty scheme that focuses on encouraging people to ‘shop local’ could be coming to Hebden Bridge.
The reward scheme Phlok gives customers points whenever they shop at outlets in the town and is aimed giving independent shops and small businesses a way of fighting back against major chains, online shopping and out-of-town retail parks.
Phlok provides a web and smartphone platform that offers consumers virtual currency, collectable and spendable at any business on its network. An open meeting on September 3, from 6pm at the Hebden Bridge Town Hall will give local people a chance to discuss introducing the reward scheme in Hebden Bridge.
