DESPITE dominating the match Borough failed to extend their three game winning streak.

Despite the setback they continued to produce the brand of high quality, free-flowing football of the previo
us week against a strong, physical side.

Lee Earnshaw was unlucky to see a crisp drive from the right-hand edge of the penalty box strike the outside of the post after 15 minutes.

Shortly after Alistair Harrison saw a fine header go just over the bar from a well delivered free kick but poor finishing saw the game goalless at half-time.

Borough continued to produce quality football after the break and squander good openings.

Marvin Bonney was brought down on the edge of the penalty area when clean through, the Saints goalkeeper earning a red card for his trouble.

Jamie Scott thundered the free kick past the reserve goalkeeper and against the underside of the crossbar and when the ball was eventually clear there was a growing feeling that this was not to be Borough’s day.

Scott sent in another curling free kick which the keeper did well to hold but St Peters then unleashed a long ball over the top which the defence failed to deal with and the Saints substitute finished in style.

Borough continued to push for the equaliser but the final whistle blew too soon for them.

A NUMBER of players missed the trip due to injury and other commitments but, against a strong wind in the first-half, Borough played some excellent football and forced the home goalkeeper to make a superb save, touching a goalbound effort onto the crossbar.

Town scored ten minutes before half-time but, with the elements now in their favour, Borough pushed forward with man of the match performances from Bates, closely followed by midfielder Peavoy who produced a superb performance despite starting the match with an injury.
